This procedure is done under general anaesthesia, so you will not feel any pain or discomfort. It is often done as an outpatient procedure so you can go home afterwards to rest and recover. It is normal to experience pain, bruising, and swelling for the first few days as the skin heals, and you will be prescribed painkillers to alleviate any discomfort. You must avoid exercise, wearing makeup, exposing your skin to the sun, and applying pressure to the stitches. A full recovery is expected 4 to 5 weeks after the procedure when you can resume your normal activities.
